David Steib, a 19 year old man, died after he injested GHB while a patron of Cyberzone. Cyberzone was found by the jury to have been negligent when they failed to call emergency medical services after finding him in a semi conscious state. Rather than call emergency medical services, they simply threw him out of the club so as to avoid an additional overdose incident with the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
