Mr. Bounds graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelors in Political Science in 1990 and thereafter obtained his Juris Doctorate Degree from Stetson University College of Law in 1993. Prior to starting his own firm, Mr. Bounds was a Partner with a state wide medical malpractice defense firm and exclusively represented physicians and hospitals in medical malpractice matters. After deciding to change the focus of his practice to patients and their families, he joined the national firm of Maher Guiley and Maher where he was responsible for running the firm's medical negligence litigation unit. While a member of the Maher firm, Mr. Bounds became a member of multiple states' bar associations to facilitate the firm's ability to handle cases in those jurisdictions. Mr. Bounds is currently a member of the California Bar, the Arizona Bar, the Texas Bar, the District of Columbia Bar and the Florida Bar. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Mr. Bounds is a member of multiple legal associations including the American Justice Association, the Florida Justice Association, the Melvin Belli Society and the Southern Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Bounds is a frequent lecturer to legal societies and bar associations on the subject of medical malpractice and has been listed as a Super Lawyers "Rising Star" in the area of medical malpractice litigation.
